A word appears. You say it out loud. That's the whole game — but the clock is running.

• A countdown of five gives you time to settle — the microphone only opens at zero.
• Change the pace whenever you like — the − and + on the play screen, or [ and ]. It takes effect at once, on the word in front of you.
• Choose your round below — 1 to 10 minutes — then say as many words as you can.
• The faster you answer, the more each word is worth.
• Consecutive hits build a multiplier. Miss one and it resets.
• Stuck? Press space to pass — it costs you 3 seconds.
• Don't know a word? Look it up — the clock stops while you read.
• Missed the last one? The ← button brings it back and says it aloud — the clock waits.
• Pause any time with P. Pausing releases the microphone.
• Pick the band you want: the left of the slider is everyday words, the right is the rare ones.
• Changed your mind mid-run? Change level (or L) brings the slider back.
